CASHION FISHING RODS SPRING TEAM TOURNAMENT BASS TRAIL FINAL QUALIFIER #5
Saturday May 19th, 2018 ~  ~ Falls Lake ~ ~ Ledge Rock Wildlife Ramp

They called for lots of rain, but from checkin to about 11am we had just cloudy skies for the Cashion Fishing Rods Spring
Team Tournament Bass Trail Final Qualifier #5 at Falls Lake.. Then the bottom fell out!! The weather for the 44 teams,
other than rain & 10 mph winds from 11am to 3pm, was ok and at weighin it cleared up!! The air temps ranged from 68 to
79 and the water level was right at 253 and rising!!  Surface water temps averaged 75 degrees depending where you were
on the lake! The fish were caught in 2 to 10 foot of water We thought the weeks rain would hurt the bite, but not so!!

Jaime Fajardo & Josh Hooks topped the field with 5 bass weighing a nice total of 27.73 lbs. to take 1st Place, 1st
Place TWT and $3,000 in Skeeter Boats Contingency Money for a whopping total of $5,105 in prize money!
The 2nd Place team of Dennis Reedy & Scott Smith landed 5 bass weighing 26.41 lbs. and along with winning the
2nd Place TWT they took home $1,030 in winnings. The 3rd Place team of Todd Sumner & Rich Sczcerbala
presented 5 bass weighing 24.11 lbs. to rack up $457 in winnings. The 1st Place Big Fish (8.80 lbs.) was caught by
the 9th Place Team of Bryson Peed & Josh Fletcher netting them a total of $721!

174 bass were brought to the scales for a total of 605 pounds averaging 3.48 lbs. each. Plastic worm rigs, shallow
running crankbaits, chatterbaits, jerk baits, spinner baits & Jigs in the more grassy shallow water seemed to be the
lures of choice. Some think the big lakes around here are overfished. They are not. The fish in these lakes have
perservered since the lakes were opened. The 'Catch & Release' program works for our bass fisheries!!!

I want to thank Cashion Fishing Rods and all the anglers that participated. Our next tournament will be the 2018
PBC Academy Sports & Outdoors $10,000 Spring Team Bass Trail FINAL Qualifier #7, Saturday June 2nd at
Jordan Lake out of Farrington Point Wildlife Ramp.
